I like to plan ahead. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am neurotic to the point of near OCD status about wanting to know the itinerary, start time, and location of an event. So when I say the next two years of PTO are accounted for, I’m not kidding.
2018 (3 Days): Taking a day off during my sister Laura’s thanksgiving and Christmas breaks so I can spend more time with her
2019 (5 Days): Parents are renting a house in Florida and I’m going down to visit, as well as hopefully going to the NYC Writer’s Digest Conference
2020 (10 Days): EUROPE
You read that right, my plan is to spend all 10 of my accrued PTO days on a backpacking trip with Laura to both Italy and Greece. Italy was my choice, Greece was hers. I have already started learning Italian in my efforts to not be one of those Americans as well as having an easier time of it whilst over there. We will be staying in hostels and keeping our spending to an absolute minimum so as to be able to spend money on the important things like guided tours and pizza.
We will be dedicating at least 7 of the 15 days to Italy, and the rest to Greece. I know there’s a lot of ground to cover and I will probably want to sleep for a week when it’s all over but I want to make the most of it!
If I have any readers who have been to Italy or Greece (or if you live there) please leave a comment below! I would love to hear your opinion on places my sister and I should hit on our epic journey!
