Ctrl + Alt + Repeat

Music is such a huge part of who I am as a person that it is no surprise it seeps into my writing process. Just like people choose music based on mood, I will decide on music based on what type of writing I’m doing. If it’s actual writing (as if there’s a fake writing, lol) where I’m plotting out new storylines or dialogue, I will rarely listen to music or, if I do, it’ll be quiet video game music. Scientific research confirms that music stimulates the brain. Listening to music helps pass the time at work and  it keeps people energized and motivated. One study even found that nine out of 10 workers perform better when listening to music.

If I’m editing I’ll listen to something familiar on repeat. Currently I’m editing Seer while playing the new Ed Sheeran Album entitled ‘=’ on repeat. And for cosmetic edits where I’m just taking notes someone else gave me and removing commas and correcting spelling mistakes I’ll listen to something upbeat.

How about you? What’s your go-to music when you need to get stuff done?

Bye for now!
